On behalf of Inked Cover Girl, thank you for helping us support MusiCares and the amazing work they do to impact the lives of those in need!

What was your first tattoo?

My first tattoo was a small sail boat on my wrist I got when I was in Texas. I was 22 and I thought it was a good idea at the time. I thought it was cute. I look back now and laugh a little at what I was thinking.

Is it true that getting tattoos is addictive?

Absolutely. A tattoo is more than just something on your skin. It’s a story. It’s part of you. It’s an expression. Being able to express yourself through art on your body is the addicting part. Adding to your story and representing yourself as an individual is a beautiful thing. I never want to stop getting tattooed.

If you were voted Inked Magazine's cover girl, what would you do with $25,000?

I would give half of it to my mother. She has helped me through the worst of times and the biggest mistakes I have made. She is a saint. I wouldn’t be where I am today without her. Whether I needed and extra $20 or $2,000 she wouldn’t hesistate to help me out of a bind. I am finally in a place where I’m confident and determined and it’s all thanks to her. She deserves the world and winning this would help me give her at least a tiny piece of it.
